About Michael Aartsen
Michael Aartsen is an Indonesian jazz guitarist recognized for his expressive contemporary jazz style, marked by clear melodic lines and refined dynamic control. Deeply rooted in a musical family legacy, he is a key member of The Aartsen, the family ensemble led by his mother, acclaimed Latin jazz pianist Nita Aartsen.
Active across both the Indonesian and European jazz circuits, Michael’s career bridges cultures and stages. He regularly performs in family-led projects alongside his brothers Brandon (bass) and Alexander (vocals), creating a tight-knit musical dialogue shaped by years of collaboration. Beyond the family ensemble, he is also a member of Borderline Indonesia, a progressive jazz group that has appeared at major festivals such as Java Jazz Festival, Ngayogjazz, and Suara Festival, as well as on European tours.
This Michael's debut performance at Seken will feature Nita Aartsen.

Yes, you can book a table on Mondays till Thursdays at any time. On our ticketed days (Fridays, and Saturdays), reservation slots may only available between 8 - 8.30 PM.
Yes, we have FDC (First Drink Charge) tickets on Fridays & Saturdays. On Wednesdays, all you need to do is just make a reservation, and you can enjoy the show with free entry.
Yes! We have Free Entry nights every Mondays to Thursdays.
On Fridays & Saturdays, you can also enter our bar for free if you come before 9 PM.
You are welcomed to come as you are, as long you're not wearing flip-flops or beverage branded singlet. Leather sandals are fine, we're not fussy ;)
Please note that our bar is located on the 2nd floor of IZE Seminyak Hotel on Jalan Kayu Aya no. 68, right above Meja Kitchen.
We have street parking space available for motorbikes / scooters only. We have limited parking space for small cars at IZE Seminyak hotel basement. For big cars, we suggest to park at Seminyak Square or Seminyak Village which is only 5 minutes away from Seken. To save the hassle, we strongly recommend you to come using online tax apps (Gojek / Grab).
No smoking is allowed indoors between 8 PM - 12 AM, vaping and iQos are allowed. Our outdoor deck is a perfect place for a cigarette break in between the sets.
Yes, we do! We serve seasonal mocktails based on what ingredients are available at the bar at that moment. Ask our bartenders to make one based on your preference. We also have soft drinks if you're in the mood for a plain one.
