About Michael Aartsen
Michael Aartsen is an Indonesian jazz guitarist recognized for his expressive contemporary jazz style, marked by clear melodic lines and refined dynamic control. Deeply rooted in a musical family legacy, he is a key member of The Aartsen, the family ensemble led by his mother, acclaimed Latin jazz pianist Nita Aartsen.
Active across both the Indonesian and European jazz circuits, Michael’s career bridges cultures and stages. He regularly performs in family-led projects alongside his brothers Brandon (bass) and Alexander (vocals), creating a tight-knit musical dialogue shaped by years of collaboration. Beyond the family ensemble, he is also a member of Borderline Indonesia, a progressive jazz group that has appeared at major festivals such as Java Jazz Festival, Ngayogjazz, and Suara Festival, as well as on European tours.
This Michael's debut performance at Seken will feature Nita Aartsen.

LIVE JAZZ NIGHTS (Wed, Fri, Sat) Reservation & Ticket Policy:
- Reservations accepted from 8 PM onwards.
- Regular tables (fit 3 people) require a minimum spend of IDR 600,000 per table.
- VIP tables (fit 5 people) require a minimum spend of IDR 2,000,000 per table.
- Minimum spend includes entry to the live jazz performance and can be used to purchase cocktails and bites.
- Walk-in guests without reservations may enter with free entry before 10 PM.
- Walk-in guests after 10 PM can enter with FDC (First Drink Charge) at IDR 200,000 per person (includes 1x cocktail or 1x mocktail)
- FDC ticket purchase doesn't guarantee a table.
- Standing areas, bar seating, and non-reserved seating remain subject to availability.

On our live jazz nights, table reservations require a minimum spend:

Option 1: Table Tickets through Event Page
Purchase a table ticket to guarantee a table for you and cover the minimum spend. The minimum spend can be used toward any food and beverage purchases during your visit. The minimum spend applies to the table, regardless of the number of guests seated.

Walk-in guests may enter by purchasing a First Drink Charge (FDC) of IDR 200,000 per person.

Yes, we do, it's called General Admission ticket. This ticket type is only available on our website until T-1 of the event date, and it's only available for a limited number. General Admission tickets won't be available to purchase at the door.

Yes! Our regular nights on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday will always have Free Entry.
On Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays, you can also enter our bar for free if you come before 10 PM, however tables will be subject to minimum spend. If you come as a group, we strongly recommend purchasing a Regular Table or VIP Table ticket to guarantee table for you. Standing areas, bar seating, and non-reserved seating remain subject to availability.
You are welcomed to come as you are, as long you're not wearing flip-flops, swimwear, or beverage branded singlet. Leather sandals are fine, we're not fussy ;)
Please note that our bar is located on the 2nd floor of IZE Seminyak Hotel on Jalan Kayu Aya no. 68, right above Meja Kitchen.
We have street parking space available for motorbikes / scooters only. We have limited parking space for small cars at IZE Seminyak hotel basement. For big cars, we suggest to park at Seminyak Square or Seminyak Village which is only 5 minutes away from Seken. To save the hassle, we strongly recommend you to come using online tax apps (Gojek / Grab).
No smoking is allowed indoors between 8 PM - 12 AM, vaping and iQos are allowed. Our outdoor deck is a perfect place for a cigarette break in between the sets.
Yes, we do! We serve seasonal mocktails based on what ingredients are available at the bar at that moment. Ask our bartenders to make one based on your preference. We also have soft drinks if you're in the mood for a plain one.
